Mary Kay Vickers

March 17, 1937 — April 2, 2023

Mary Kay Vickers, 86 years old, passed away peacefully April 2nd, 2023 at her home in Castle Pines, Colorado.  Mary was born to Roger and Lois Lillicrop in Minot, North Dakota on March 17th, 1937.  In 1939 the family relocated to San Gabriel, California which was her home until she entered college at the University of Colorado in Boulder.  While at CU, she was active with her sorority, the Pi Beta Phi. She also met the love of her life, Fred Vickers.  In 1957 they married and made their home in Arcadia California and had three children: Elizabeth, Tim and John. In 1974, they relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they lived until Fred's passing in 2009.

A life-long devout Lutheran, Mary was active at her church, CanSurmount, Meals on Wheels, Little League, PTA, and Scouts. What she most enjoyed was family. She built an idyllic loving home for her family, and became a second mom to many neighborhood children and many others.

Mary and Fred had a wide circle of friends. As Empty-Nesters, they enjoyed entertaining, weekly date nights, and traveling. They were devoted grandparents and greatly enjoyed spending time with their adult children and grandchildren through the years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Fred. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Cataldo (John), sons Tim (Chris) and John (Diana), her grandchildren Melissa (Galen), Christina, Luke (Julia), John, Katie, Sarah and Matt, and her great grandson Caleb. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed by all.
