Masel Vivian Johnson, 78, of Centennial, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 28, 2013 in the presence of family and friends. Masel was born in Denver, Colorado on April 24, 1935. She attended South High School as part of the 1952 graduating class. Masel was married to Alden Johnson on September 7, 1951; they were married 62 years. Masel worked alongside her husband Alden for their company, Antique Lighting from Alden for 24 years. She enjoyed genealogy, antiques and historical relics. She was also involved in the Gilpin County Historical Society and Central City Planning Commission during the renovation of the Central City Opera House and the Institution of Gambling in the Central City & Blackhawk areas. Masel is survived by her spouse Alden, children Vicki (Mike) Cheshire and Crista (Joe) Thompson, grandchildren Mick (Valerie) Cheshire, Kedri (Erik) Ladewig, great grandchildren Emma and Camden, grand children Casey Thompson, Corey (Rami) Thompson, great grandchildren Brooke, and Kade, several nieces and nephews, also many additional family and close friends.
