Massie Lee Booth

July 15, 1918 — October 10, 2005

Massie Lee Booth, Loving Mother and Grandmother passed away October 10, 2005. She is survived by three children; Antoinette Williams, Harry Dee Williams, and Earl Lollis; six grandchildren; Ronnie, Jeffrey and Kenny Williams, Jessica, Christina, and Michael Lollis, and three great grandchildren; Lashay, Jeff, and Shala Williams. Massie was born in East St. Louis, Illinois July 15, 1918. She was raised in the Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri area. She went to nursing school and worked as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in the 1960's. In those years in Kansas City many friends and family were always close by. She made yearly trips to Denver to visit more family, play Bingo and go fishing. Those were the two things that she loved the most. Always after those visits she would tell us kids 'someday we will move to Denver'. Well she moved here, with all three kids in 1972. She was a very strong woman who often was a single mother raising three kids and later helped to raise three grandchildren who were very important to her. During the time she lived here, she had several odd jobs, one being at Electron Corporation. She went back to school to get a degree in Television repair. We never saw her work on a TV but we always had one, maybe that's what she thought the degree was for. She retired from Electron Corporation in 1981 and started traveling around the country, usually following a Bingo game. She truly had a big heart that reached out to everyone. She was loved by everyone who met her. As kids we remember the Friday night parties and card games 'Rook and Pinochle' and how much she loved a party. She would get the dancing started and keep it going all night. There are so many memorable moments she has left all of us. Please share your memories with each other
