Mathew Peterson

Mathew Roy Peterson, age 29, died peacefully at home on Tuesday December 22, 2020.

Born January 25, 1991 in Merced, CA, he lived in Centennial, CO where he worked for Cooper Heating and Cooling until his passing.

Survivors include parents Roy and Connie Peterson of Centennial, CO, sisters Gail Peterson and her children Ethan and Alexis of Strasburg, CO, Rachel Peterson of Merced, CA, Erin Peterson of Boxborough, MA along with Grandparents Edith Mayfield of Merced, CA and Morris and Alice Peterson of Merced, CA. Mathew was preceded in death by Grandfather Raymond C. Mayfield, Uncle Raymond L. Mayfield, infant niece Alyssa, and beloved best friend canine Daisy.

Mathew held an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Magna Cum Laude, from Aurora Community College and was only a few credits from completing his Bachelor  Degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Mathew was a very quiet person and a man of few words but had a big heart and would lend a hand to anyone that asked. He was also a big jokester with a wicked sense of humor.  He enjoyed spending time doing things with the family, especially playing games with his niece and nephew.  His dog Daisy of 13 years passed 3 years ago and was his best friend, he spent any spare time along side her and is now joining her.  His hobbies included listening to music, watching the New England Patriots games, viewing movies, especially scary/freaky ones and fishing.  Growing up he enjoyed martial arts and skate boarding.  In the past year he adopted a new dog that he named Bailey (Pup-Pup) that occupied his free time.  He was just a month away from reaching his 30th birthday.

Services will be held at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue Aurora, CO on January 5, 2021 at 2:00pm but due to COVID restrictions will be limited to the immediate family, although all are invited to Virtually join us on Zoom.
