Matthew John Beck, to know him is to love him. A man with a heart of gold.
Matt was born on March 31, 1977 in West Allis, Wisconsin and unexpectedly died on April 1, 2024 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is survived by his loving wife, Briney Beck; children, Maya, Dominic, Brenna, and Sadie Gunshore, Lily Shapcott and Cheyenne (Angel) Brooks Zarraga; parents, Daniel and Cindy Beck; brother, Nathaniel (Paulina) Beck and, niece, Shanice Ladarom; in-laws, Joe and Jean Kirby; sister-in-law Katie (John) Berry, niece, Emma, and, nephew, Jack Berry; grandparents, Dorothy Beck, Ron and Marlene Worgull; aunts and uncles, Betty (Bill) Feller, Christine Frahm, Joseph Frahm, Karen (Don) Vaught, David (Judi) Beck, Robert (Sonia) Beck, Ronald (Lori) Beck, and Lori Schneider; and many dear cousins. Matt is also survived by countless friends who feel like family.
Matt grew up in Milwaukee and Muskego, Wisconsin. Matt attended Muskego High School where he was on the dive team and also ran track and cross country, which he loved. Matt then attended Winona State University. In 1999, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He moved to Scottsdale after college; he lived there enjoying the desert until 2020. He fell in love with Briney and his future family, trading the desert for the mountains of Colorado. Matt was recently promoted to Software QA Director at Evercast, his work community.
Matt was so many things to so many people. A family man above all else; he loved his family beyond measure. An adventure partner and up-for-anything best friend to his wife. An example of what love and partnership should look like for his beloved children. A deeply loved son and friend to his mom. A precious son and hunting partner to his dad, and best friend to his brother. A Ragnar racer, biker, runner, conversationalist, outdoorsman, businessman, investor, favorite workout partner to his daughter, closet cat lover, paddle boarder, snow boarder, IT wizard, shenanigans creator, beer connoisseur, homework helper, amateur photographer, cheerleader at his children’s sports events, go-with-the-flow-er, ping pong tournament winner, and kind caregiver. He delighted in the grand adventures of his life, but also in the everyday adventures of co-parenting his beautiful children. He was the proudest of dads. He packed so much life, love and meaning into his 47 years.
A celebration of Matt’s life will be held on Friday, April 12, at 11:00 AM MT at the Horan & McConaty Chapel, located at 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, Colorado 80122.
