Matthew Jay Delaney was born on January 20, 1962 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia to JB and Marian Delaney. He passed away on Saturday October 15, 2016 surrounded by his family at The Denver Hospice. Matthew loved motorcycles, classic cars, welding, his children, his beloved cocker spaniels, remote control cars and classic rock and roll. He worked for Xcel Energy (previously Public Service) for 34 years, spending most of those years as a pipefitter with trouble truck, and the last few years as a trusted dispatcher. Matthew was a loving and generous man who wore his heart on his sleeve and went out of his way to take care of those he loved and cared for. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, but also thankful his pain and suffering has ended and he is at peace now. He is survived by his three children; daughter Stephanie Delaney, son Shane Delaney (Erin Delaney), and son Nicholas Delaney. His mother Marian Delaney, his four siblings; Linda Fields, Bryant Delaney, Kathy Wyatt, and Diane Delaney and his 2 grandchildren Paige and Avery. He is preceded in death by his father, JB Delaney. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 22, 2016 at the church of Latter Day Saints in Aurora, CO off Chambers & 6th Ave.
