Matthew John Roth died December 26, 2020, at Rose Medical Center after battling serious health issues for many years.
He was born July 29,1967 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of William and Margaret Roth.
Matt graduated from Bergan High School, Class of 1985. Following graduation, he attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he earned a B.S in Economics and went on to earn a Juris Doctorate at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. He moved to Denver following graduation.
In 2001, he married the love of his life, Mary Archibald. Together they were raising their four children in what Matt calls, “The best thing he ever did.” They lived in Centennial where they have been members of St Thomas More Catholic Church and School for fifteen years. Matt loved his St. Thomas More community where he was a member of the Men’s Group for over a decade.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Bill, his sister Terri, and nephew Timothy. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his children, Eddie, Louie, Jane and Colleen; three brothers, William M. (Debi), Robert, and Joe; five sisters, Sharon (Bob), Karen (Dave), Merri (Mark), Lora (John) and Peggy (Matt); 21 nieces and nephews.
A Rosary service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2020 with a viewing starting at 4:00pm, rosary at 5:00pm. The funeral will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2020 at 10:00am.
A reception immediately following Matthew John Roth’s funeral will take place on Saturday January 9th. Location: Tynan’s Pre-Owned car center at 2150 South Havana Street. Parking will be in the rear of the building. Staff will be on site to direct you.
All are welcome to attend the rosary, funeral, and reception.
Those who knew Matt will remember him for the heroic suffering he endured, his ability to see the good in everyone he met, and his infectious laugh.
He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed.
