We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Matthew J Wasko. He passed away on the morning of Thursday July 27, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Matt served in the Army for 6 years and was discharged in 1967. Shortly after serving, Matt started driving a truck for Graves trucking and drove until 1981 when he was hurt on the job and broke his back. Eventually he went back to school for a field in electronics. Matt loved to fix things and would travel with his toolbox, although a lot of the things he tried fixing either never worked again or went back together correctly. He was a very strong and independent man, always willing to help others, but never wanting or asking for help himself.
He was married to his first wife (Catherine Wasko) from 1968 to 1979 and had 2 boys. In 1981 he married his second wife (Charlotte Wasko) and had 3 stepchildren, 1 boy and 2 girls.
Matt is preceded in death by Charlotte Wasko (2021) and his stepdaughter Debbie Dewitt. He is survived by his 2 sons: Sean Wasko (Amy Hurst), Shane Wasko (Jennifer Fuhler), granddaughter – Ashleigh and Jeremiah Noblitt. As well as his stepson: Joseph and Shellie Sanders, grandchildren – Maranda and Dale Kemler, Shelby and Shay Anderson, Haleigh Sanders, Joseph Sanders II and Julian Price - great grandchildren: Elaina, Emelia and Reese / Stepdaughter: Bonnie and Edward Visser, grandchildren – Brianna Cash, Abbie Visser, Evelyn Cash, Adelyn Cash, Colin and Lindsay Kramer, and granddaughter Michelle Dewitt.
