Maureen Pamela Clark

April 3, 1949 — March 2, 2025

Maureen Pamela Clark, 75, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by her children and the love of close friends and family.

Maureen was born on April 3, 1949, in San Jose, California, to Maurice and Aleese Mercier. She was the eldest of their children, with her younger brother, Ronald Mercier, arriving four years later.

Maureen graduated from Camden High School in Campbell, California, in 1967. She went on to build a distinguished 30-year career in sales and marketing at IBM, working at various locations across the United States. After retiring, she pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Business degree from Regis University in Denver.

A passionate traveler, Maureen explored the world with her family, visiting all but one continent and preserving her cherished adventures in beautifully crafted scrapbooks.

Her greatest joy came from her children, Gregory and Angela, whom she adored. Whether serving as a Girl Scout leader or cheering on the Eagles football team, she was always deeply involved in their lives, supporting their education and extracurricular activities.

Maureen was an avid reader and found immense joy in her book and movie clubs, where she formed lifelong friendships. She delighted in watching the Aspen leaves change each fall and was actively engaged in political and charitable causes. She contributed to and chaired numerous philanthropic efforts, notably the Kempe Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

A true California girl at heart, Maureen found peace by the water, surrounded by her beloved family, playing Pedro, and always searching for lighthouses along the way.

Maureen’s beauty radiated inside and out. She embodied grace and elegance, never one to complain, always maintaining an optimistic spirit. Her wry sense of humor brought laughter even in the most difficult times.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt and uncle, Anita and Conrad Marsili; her uncle, Joseph Citti; her cherished grandparents, Madeline and Giuseppe Citti; and her former husband, Dr. Morris Clark.

She is survived by her loving children, Gregory Clark and Angela Clark (Craig Gentile) both of Denver; her brother, Ronald Mercier (Beth); and her nephews, Jay, Christopher, and Matthew of Atlanta. She also leaves behind her dear aunt, Barbara Citti, as well as her beloved cousins, Cheri (Bill) Lewis and family, Cathie (Frank) Giuliani and family, and Joseph Citti and family.

Maureen extended her heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses who provided strength and hope throughout her decades-long journey. With special thanks to Dr. Michele Basche and Dr. Scot Sedlacek.

Private memorials will be held in Denver, CO, and Monterey, CA. Invitations to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions please be made to NAMI (https://donate.nami.org) or the Susan G. Komen Foundation (https://www.komen.org/how-to-help/donate/).
