Max Andrew Cobble

Max Andrew Cobble, 86, died on May 6, 2016. He was born to Tom and Atha Cobble of Midway, Tennessee on May 24, 1929. Max graduated from Mosheim High School in Mosheim, TN and served as State President, and later, National Secretary of Future Farmers of America. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, TN. While there, he served as President of his fraternity, Alpha Gama Rho, and was in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges for his outstanding leadership and scholastic achievements. He was also in ROTC and after graduating went on to serve two years of active duty in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Max worked for the Atomic Energy Commission and helped test the atomic bombs in Yucca Flat, NV in 1957. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. and J.I. Case Tractor Co. and owned his own company after moving to Colorado in 1985. Max was a lifetime Lutheran and was very active in the church council, stewardship and other volunteer roles. Max was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; son, Bryan Cobble; daughter, Melanie Graf; brothers, Rex Cobble and Hal Cobble; and 4 grandchildren, Allison, Sarah, Ben, and Kevin. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 16 at 4:00pm at Lord of the Hills Lutheran Church, 21755 East Smoky Hill Road, Aurora, Colorado.
