Max Jae Fielding, 89, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away February 12, 2015, in Parker, Colorado. He was born January 17, 1926 in Orem, Utah to Clifford M. and Mary Adelle Hallam Fielding. Max Jae Fielding: Devoted Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend. Max grew up in Utah and met the Love of his Life, Marie Johanna Van Oostendorp. They married in 1948, and the growing family moved to Louisiana, Maryland, Delaware and most recently to Aurora, Colorado. Marie preceded Max in death on June 22, 2014. ""He was the Smartest Man I ever met,"" said Wilson Davis, a good friend. Max graduated from Louisiana State University with a PhD in Nematology and embarked on a career in Agricultural Science that yielded 33 patents and more than 100 publications. His research aided in increasing worldwide production of rice, corn, cotton and various fruits. Max was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and God's faithful servant. His love for all was clearly visible in his joy for traveling and visiting family. Most of all, he loved being near his dear Marie. Max is survived by his children, Cheri M. F. Seeman (Russ Seeman), Max Jae Fielding, Jr. (Donna Fielding) and Kelly Ross Fielding (Gayle Fielding); 18 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; brother, Kent Fielding (Dorothy Fielding) and sister, Colleen Watson. He was preceded in death by wife, Marie; daughter, Rebecca Kay Haugh; granddaughter, Brooke Haugh, and infant brother, Clifford M. Fielding, Jr. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 21750 E. Dorado Ave., Aurora, CO. 80015. The family will receive friends at the Church from 11:00-11:45am. Burial will be at Saint Simeon Cemetery, Aurora, CO.
