Max Richard Wiley

Max Richard Wiley, 72, of Aurora, Colorado died August 9, 2016 due to complications from cancer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda (McBride); his daughters, Jaymi and Nicole; 2 grandsons, Lincoln and Jackson; 2 sisters, Deborah and Janet; nieces Amanda, Maxine, and Coryn; and many close friends. Max was born on June 1, 1944 in Baton Rouge, LA to Max and Virginia Wiley. He spent his childhood years in Milan, MI. He married Linda McBride after meeting her at Central Michigan University where he received a Master's degree in 1968. He was a member of ROTC during college. He spent 2 years in the Army and served in Vietnam. Max started his Banking Career in Owosso, MI. He and Linda moved to Boulder, CO where he continued his career. He is a past president of the Colorado Bankers Association. Max ended his 21 year career as Senior Vice President of Colorado National Bank Corporation. In 1994, Mayor Wellington Webb appointed Max as the Director of Economic Development for the city of Denver. During his 5 year service, he helped open Denver International Airport, the Pepsi Center, and the redevelopment of Lowry Air Force Base. His favorite commitment was serving on the Colorado Baseball Commission, overseeing the construction of Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies. Max enjoyed many years of retirement playing golf, traveling, and attending Rockies baseball games. He was also a volunteer with First Tee of Denver.
