Mechtildes Collette Martinez

Mechtildes Collette Crowley Martinez, 92, passed away April 17, 2005, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born September 2, 1912, in Senaca, Illinois to David E. and Margaret Malady Crowley. Graduated from St Francis Nursing School in 1934 and Bradley University in 1944, Peoria, Illinois. She honorably served as Captain in U.S. Army Nurse Corps in England as anesthetist during World War II from 1943 to 1945. She worked at the Salvation Army Booth Memorial Hospital and retired from the Rocky Mountain Hospital, Denver in 1982. Mechtildes is survived by a son, Lance Michael (Ceil) Martinez, of Pueblo, CO; and a daughter, Margaret Eileen Martinez, of Aurora, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Eileen M. Crowley and Irma L. Crowley. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 20th, 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am, St. Therese Church, E. 13th Ave at Kenton Street, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 1370 Pennsylvania St, Denver, Co. 80203 or St. Therese School, 1200 Kenton St, Aurora CO 80010. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Morris, Illinois.
