Medora Janet ""Jan"" Rufien

August 1, 1938 — April 23, 2016

Survived by husband Charlie; children Karen Rufien, Medora (Ross) Fralick, Paul Rufien, Margaret (Rick) Potter, Carolyn (Mike) Roberts; grandchildren Rene (Matt), Sean, Ian, Justin (Ashley), Chelsea (Josh), Melanie, Christina, Gabbie, Ryan, Jonathan, Joel, Rachel, Britton; great-grandchildren Jack, Ella, Nolan; sister Carolyn (Jack) Hembree; brother Clifford (Jean) McCormick. Jan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to loving, educating and uplifting others, particularly children. After decades as a kindergarten teacher, Jan continued her commitment through missionary work and sponsoring refugee families. Jan was loving, strong, courageous and inspiring. She will be forever missed, but forever with us. Celebration of Her Life, Tue. 06/21/16, 3:00 PM, St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 8817 S. Broadway, Highlands Ranch, CO. Open House Reception immediately following the service at Riverwalk Clubhouse, 2751 W. Riverwalk Cir., Littleton 80123. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Columbine Memorial Foundation, John Austin Cheley Foundation in Estes Park, CO or Clifton F. & Lorane S. McCormick Endowed Scholarship Fund in Springfield, MO.
