Melvin Eugene Conine

Lt Col Melvin E Conine USAF (Ret) died June 9. Mel is survived by his wife of 66 years, Darleen, children, Connie (Larry), Mike, Tim (Pat), Pam (Dale) Hammers, grandchil¬dren, Nicole and Nathan Hammers and brother, Dean (Nita) Conine of Cheyenne, WY. Mel served in the US Navy and US Air Force during WWII and the Korean War and was a pilot in the Wyoming Air National Guard. Afterwards, he worked for United Airlines until his retirement. He shared his love of airplanes and flying by serving as a tour guide at The Wings Over the Rockies Museum. He was one of the original DIA Ambassadors and assisted travelers at the airport for 15 years. Memorial service, 12:30 pm, Mon-day, June 18 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mel's name to The Wings Over the Rockies Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd, Denver 80230.
