Melvin Eugene "Gene" Fronk, 66, passed away suddenly July 7, 2007 in Denver, Colorado. Gene was born March 19, 1941, in Orange County, Florida to Kenneth and Hazel Joiner Fronk. He attended Edgewater High School and graduated in 1959. He then enlisted in the US Army where he served in California during the Korean War operating a missile defense station. After serving in the Army he remained in California where he learned cosmetology and worked as professional barber and hair stylist. Other professions held throughout his lifetime include restaurant manager, book salesman, truck driver, construction worker, apartment manager, and car salesman. Gene also held a degree in computer technology, which he received, from Control Data Institute in 1970. But nothing was closer to his heart and more enjoyable then his maintenance business. Gene was a jack of all trades when it came to home repair and maintenance. There wasn't a task around your house or business he couldn't do. Gene was a kind man and those who knew him best always spoke of his caring and generous nature. He would go the extra mile for a friend and always treated every job he did as if it was the most important job he had ever held. He loved football and was a die-hard Denver Bronco's and Florida Gators fan. He was friendly, outspoken, bold, and truthful and he loved the Lord! He was a unique and rare individual and left an impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed and is greatly loved by his friends, family, and associates. Gene is survived by his son, Michael David Fronk, of Ladson, South Carolina; daughter, Dhyana O'Driscoll & Granddaughter, Aleta O'Driscoll, of Gainesville, Florida; friend and former wife, Deborah Singer, Denver, CO; and many friends. A Memorial Service for Gene will be held on Friday, July 20th, at 3:00 p.m., at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at Parker Road), Aurora, Colorado.
