On February 14th, 2024, Mercedes Irene Bauerly Dreas entered into eternal rest in Centennial Colorado.
Memorial Services will be held at Horan & McConaty 11150 E Dartmouth Avenue Aurora Colorado 8014 on Friday March 1st at 11:00AM with a reception to follow. There will also be a viewing on Thursday February 29th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver CO 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver CO 80236 on Monday March 4th at 1:00PM.
Mercedes Irene Bauerly was born on July 30th, 1939, to Floyd Nelson Bauerly and Marie Estella Harding in Le Mars Iowa. Around the age of 7 Mercedes moved to a farmhouse near Westfield Iowa, where she attended the Westfield Consolidated School until Graduation in 1957.
Mercedes was united in marriage with Ronald Dreas on April 9th, 1962, at Saint Boniface Church in Sioux City IA. The couple resided in South Sioux City NE where they raised their family. Mercedes enjoyed ballroom dancing, roller skating, basketball, listening to the Grand ole Opry, playing card games and attending all the activities her children were participating in, while raising them.
In addition to being a loving mother, Mercedes was active in the Saint Michael’s church, where she was a lector and volunteered her services for various church activities. Mercedes had several occupations throughout her long life working at Zenith, Public School Cafeteria, Region 4 Services, and Gateway computers. After retiring, Mercedes spent some time living in Crestview FL before returning to Nebraska and finally settling in Aurora CO.
Mercedes is survived by her four children: Scott Dreas (wife Audra) of Bella Vista AR, Eric Dreas (wife Cheriè) of Aurora CO, Sara Dreas of Aurora CO, and Kyle Dreas (wife Katrina) of Aurora CO. She has 10 Grandchildren: Brett Dreas, Spencer Dreas, Aaron Dreas, Amber (Dreas) Jackson, Austyn Dreas-McAdoo, Kellen Dreas-McAdoo, Marissa Dickinson, Brandon Dickinson, Nikita Dreas and Kyra Dreas. She also has 6 Great Grandchildren.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her husband Ron, Parents Floyd and Marie, and her brothers Merlin, Darwin, and Corwin.
