Meredith Joyce House, 83, of Aurora, Colorado, died December 8, 2008. Meredith was born August 27, 1925, in Denver, Missouri, a daughter of Luther and Dona Murray House. Meredith was employed by the Denver School System for 36 years. She received awards for achievements by the Teachers Award Foundation of Denver. She began her teaching career following High School Graduation in a small country school in Northern Missouri. She later earned her Bachelor of Science and Master Degrees from the University of Missouri. She was President of the local chapter of Pi Lambda Theta (An International Honorary Society for teaching professionals) and was Vice President of the National Chapter. Meredith is survived by a nephew, Larry Parman, of Dacula, Georgia; and a niece, LaDora Combs, of Denver, Missouri. She was preceded in death by two sisters. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Denver. Burial will be at Hampden Memorial Gardens, 8600 East Hampden Ave., Denver, on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Memorial donations may be made in Meredith's name to Pi Lambda Theta, P.O.
