Merle, 83, went home to be with the Lord January 28, 2015. Survived by his wife Jerri; daughter Robyn (David) Stevenson, and son Kevin; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth (Zoha); and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Wilma; son Larry; sister Noreen Petty; and granddaughter Kelly Pitts. Merle was the oldest of three children born in Rapid City, South Dakota. His 30 year career as an Air Traffic Controller took him to San Francisco, Washington, DC and Denver. After he retired from the FAA he owned and operated Pitts Piano Service in the Denver Metro area for 20 years. He was active in archery and was a former President of the Colorado Bow Hunters Association. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015, 10:00 AM at Woodside Baptist Church, 8500 E Alameda Avenue, Denver, CO 80247.
