Merle Stokka

Merle E. Stokka Born in Hannaford, N.D. on September 3, 1919. Merle was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2012 at age 92. She resided in Littleton, CO. Merle Haaland was born September 3, 1919 to Swen Haaland and Regina (Klubben) Haaland on a farm near Hannaford, N.D. She married Morris V. Stokka on June 11, 1941 and together they lived in Chicago, Seattle, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, moving to Denver in 1987. Merle was domestic and enjoyed baking Norwegian specialty cookies and lefse with her family, was an avid reader and had a love for dogs, gardening and birds. She was gifted in sewing, crocheting, embroidering and knitting. Merle touched many lives with her unconditional love and kindness. She had a servant's heart, with an abundant love for the Lord and her family. Her granddaughter, Kimberly, provided a lifetime of joy and happiness. Merle was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years and son, Wayne. She will be dearly missed by her son, Keith (Bette) and granddaughter, Kimberly.
