Merlin Oyer Brotzman

Merlin Oyer Brotzman of Northglenn, CO passed away on May 10, 2020, at the age of 86.

Merl, to his family and friends was born on March 15, 1934 in the town of Easton, PA. Merl married Jean Ann Sandercock on May 24, 1958 and in 1967 the Brotzman family moved to Northglenn, CO.

Merl worked in sheet metal up until his retirement. His vast knowledge in this industry was well known and some of his projects included working on security devices for Cheyenne Mountain as well as consulting work for other projects. Merl and Jean loved to square dance when they were younger, serving as President and Vice President of the Denver Area Square and Round Dance council for some of those years.

Merl loved to connect to people. Whether it was a grocery store, restaurant, gas station or doctor's office, Merl would strike up a conversation with people and became a family friend within moments.

In his later years Merl became involved with helping various organizations, one of which was helping to raise money for Native American tribes.

Merl was preceded in death by his wife Jean and his daughter Lori Morris. Merl is survived by his son Jeff (Penny); his daughter Judi (Michael); granddaughters Alexa Patterson (Josh), Stephanie Chapman (Chris); six great grandchildren; Xavier, Leo, Leah, Makayla, Hannah, and Henry; sister-in-law Lois Cherrington (Andy); nieces Janelle Cherrington (Tom), Karen Cherrington (Nahal); great niece Arden; son-in-law Glenn Morris.

A celebration of Merl's life will be held at a later date.
