Michael Lee Adams died at home in Commerce City, Colorado on March 10, 2025 at the age of 76. Mike was born in Danville Illinois on January 14, 1949. He attended Ricks College in Idaho. A devout Latter-day Saint Mike served a two year mission in Southern California where he fell in love with the wide open spaces of the west.
Mike married Kathleen Cecelia Adams (nee Miller) in 1974 and moved to Colorado in 1984. Mike owned and operated a Big O Tires store until he retired in 2019. Mike was a history buff who like to build model ships and tanks. After retirement, Mike learned to play guitar, and surrounded himself with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mike goes on to join his mother Alice Deola Adams, father Newell Lee Adams, and older brother Robert Newell Adams.
Mike is survived by his Kathe', his four daughters, Sarah (Jesse, dec) Green, Susan Adams, April (Tyler) Adams-Rhuby, and Samantha Adams, and one son, Aaron Adams, grandchildren Abby, Matt, Andrew, Jordan, Lauryn, Chloie, Aidan, Ella and Makala, twelve great-grandchildren, his sister Sharon (Ed) Monette, sister-in-law Margret (Robert) Adams, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing will be held at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Thornton on Thursday, March 20 4-7pm. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Buffalo Run chapel in Brighton, Colorado on Friday, March 21 11am-12pm with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Kidney Fund or the American Heart Association.
