Michael Stephen Carney

Michael Stephen Carney Michael Stephen Carney, 61, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home of heart failure. Michael was born September 22, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, a son of Raymond Carney, Jr. and Gwena Allen. Mike was raised in Littleton, Colorado graduating from Littleton High School. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Mission. Mike studied at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Mike is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son Benjamin; and daughter, Michelle Weymouth. Also surviving are his father, Raymond Carney, Jr.; sister, Sherri Windle; and brother, Jeffrey Carney; and six grandsons, Rex, Samuel, Oliver, and William Weymouth, and Jack and Lucas Carney. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 610 Coors St., Golden, Colorado. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at Golden Cemetery. Mike was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, could grow a mean garden, and was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Mike gave joy to all around him.
