Michael Jeffrey Gallegos

December 25, 1958 — January 9, 2017

On January 9th 2017 our beloved Michael, was summoned by God to take his place in heaven. Michael Jeffrey Gallegos (Mike), 58 years young of Denver, Colorado left his footprint on all who knew him. Michael's legacy lives on in each of us. We will find comfort in knowing he and others we love that have gone before us, will be waiting to greet us at our time of calling. His fervent love for God best showed in his compassion for others. His most noted attribute was the love he shared for his family. His God given talents for music and laughter are the Band-Aids that will hold our hearts together. His innate ability to make us laugh helped us to find joy at our darkest moments. All this, as well as his love for the country he served is what will carry us through this most difficult time. Funeral service will be held at 11:30am, on January 18, 2017at Horan & McConaty Mortuary 3101 S Wadsworth, Denver CO 80227. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7pm on January 17th, 2017 at Horan & McConaty. Michael will be laid to rest with his fellow soldiers at Ft Logan Military Cemetary following the funeral service. A celebration of his life will be hosted from 2- 5 pm at nearby Lakeview Event Center 7864 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232. Michael (Mike) was born in Alamosa, Colorado on Christmas Day, December 25, 1958. He graduated from Thornton High School, where he discovered and enjoyed his ability to sing and entertain. After High School he Joined the United States Marine Corp and served faithfully for nearly 20 years. He received his honorable discharge and fully retired with several medals, accolades and honorary recognition. Michael married Georgette Sisneros on July 18, 2009. They exchanged vows at their most favorite place, The Red Rocks in Colorado. They were joined by friends and family to celebrate two best friends becoming one union under God. For a number of years Michael also worked as a Professional Recruitment Representative He placed technical and professionals in jobs for government and private sector. A job where he excelled until his health began to fade. Michael is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Angela Garcia Gallegos, his youngest brother Mark Anthony Gallegos and a baby sister Donna Marie Gallegos. His loving Aunt Lucy Tracy, and his grandparents Alcario and Julia Garcia and Pete and Benita Gallegos. Michael was a loving husband to Georgette Gallegos and step-father to her four children Louie, Sarah, Samuel, Naomi and their families. Michael shared children, Jason M Gallegos and Denise Gallegos Smith, with Sharon Gallegos. His children and step-children, Chelsea Gallegos Marlar, Nathan M Gallegos, David Villarreal and Christina Villarreal Santander and their families were shared with Tina Richardson, their mother. Michael is the son of Donald M. and Mary A. Gallegos and beloved brother to Debbie Gallegos Kelley, Jerome Donald M. Gallegos and wife Caroline, Charles C. Gallegos and wife Angelie, and preceded in death brother Mark Gallegos and baby sister Donna M Gallegos. Michael and Georgette shared so lovingly, 23 grandchildren, Olivia, JJ. Jason, Eva and Jarrett Bower Gallegos. Antonio and sister Alexia Narro, Brothers Freddie IV, Trevon and Terrell Smith. Ryan and Laney Villarreal. Jonathon and sister Jocelynne Longoria, Aiden and brother Leland Rice. Elijah, Louie III, Jacob, and sisters Angel Baby and Aleah Hassey. Junior Garcia and brothers Enzo and Maddox Valtierra. Each of these beautiful beings had loved filled stocking hung up on the fire place every Christmas season. Michael is also survived his Uncle Charles and Aunt Sherry, nephews Johnny Perez and family, niece Alicia Mendiola and family, nephews Aaron and Gabriel Gallegos, nephews Andrew and Daniel Gallegos and niece Lynea Casias and her family. There are numerous cousins he loved, and many friends who he adored and never forgot. This very special Man will be missed beyond words. He will be loved forever and remembered with the highest esteem. We know Heaven will have one more angel creating music & laughter like they never knew! We love you Husband, Father, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Dear Friend! Semper Fi, USMC GySgt retired.
