Michael Jess Hagerdon, the son of Ronald Hagerdon and Linda (Lake) Hagerdon, was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on July 28, 1973. He passed away peacefully in his sleep December 30, 2024, at the young age of 51. He was a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. His funny stories along with his sense of humor, and smile will be greatly missed. Michael battled juvenile diabetes and all the complications that came with it since he was 8 years old.
The family lived in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Northglenn, Colorado, in 1977 where Michael grew up. Growing up Michael enjoyed playing soccer and adventures in the outdoors. He graduated from Northglenn High School in 1992 and then went on to Aerotech. After graduation he moved to Everett, Washington, for a year. Returning to Colorado to be closer to family and taking a job at United Airlines, where he continued to work for the last 25 years.
Michael always made time to visit with his nephews, Gregory and Nathan, enjoying everything from birthday celebrations to Easter egg hunts with them. He also enjoyed catching up on conversations with his big brother, Scott, about drag racing and trucks. He loved to see and hear about Scott’s fast Willys cars and his wins.
Travel was a topic Michael and his sister, Stacy, always enjoyed. Running into his brother-in-law, Gilbert, at work was a bonus to his day. Michael had many family hunting trips with both his parents Ronald and Linda. He went on to enjoy hunting with dad (Ronald) at the family cabin in Gunnison, Colorado. His visits across the street to Mom’s (Linda’s) or a quick wave to her as he went to work will be missed. Michael will live forever in our hearts every day!
Michael is survived by his parents Ronald Hagerdon and Linda Lake Hagerdon; siblings Scott Hagerdon and Stacy Kissam; brother-in-law Gilbert Kissam of 35 years along with his two nephews Gregory and Nathan Kissam; uncles and aunts Bill Hagerdon of Mapleton, IA, Richard Hagerdon of Spencer, IA, Steve (Jane) Lake of Spencer, IA, Patty (Clinton) Jones of Spencer, IA; along with many cousins and friends.
