Michael Hilger

Michael Brien Hilger ""Mike"", 55, of Denver, Colorado passed away January 19th, 2016 following a heart transplant on January 10. Mike was born July 31, 1960 in Denver, to parents James Robert Hilger and Barbara Brien Hilger. Mike is survived by his beloved wife Jennifer David Hilger, sons Andrew Michael Hilger of Sunnyvale, CA; Stephen Robert Hilger of Denver; his sister Elizabeth Hilger Gallo of Pasadena, CA; parents James and Barbara Hilger; and Prudence Dix Hilger. Mike was a C.P.A and Director of Tax with the Anschutz Corporation. Mike graduated from Notre Dame in 1982 with a B.B.A in accountancy and had a master's in tax from the University of Denver. He was president of the Colorado Association of Tax Executives and a three-year president of the Denver Notre Dame Club. He was honored as an outstanding alumnus of Notre Dame, receiving the Award of the Year. He started his career with Deloitte and Touche in the tax department. He then took in-house tax officer positions with the Independent Petroleum Association, Katy Industries and Leprino Foods. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Donations may be made to the Denver Notre Dame Scholarship Fund, or the American Heart Association. A funeral mass will be at St. Thomas More, Monday, January 25, at 11:30 am.
