Michael “Mike” Leal of Keenesberg, CO was called home suddenly on December 11, 2021, at the age of 54. Mike grew up in the Westminster area and went to Ranum High School, Class of 86’.
Mike worked as an Electrician for 25-years from 1996 – 2021. He was well known in the electrical community and helped many men along the way to becoming electricians as well. His son-in-law Este recently passed & now holds a Journeyman Electrical license. Mike was so proud! He was a Leader, a Mentor, a Son a Father, a Grandfather, and Brother. He was a hard-working, humble man, and someone who was always willing to lend a hand. Mike was always a fun guy to be around, he had a heart bigger than himself and would make friends everywhere he went.
Mike loved his music, camping, fishing, hunting, riding, hanging out with the guys and all of his friends, but what he loved most was being with his family. His children & grandchildren were his most valuable treasures and he loved them dearly. He didn’t hold a specific denomination or church, but Mike loved the Lord.
His children would say he was the most loving & gentle Dad. Always there no matter what, Their HERO! The Dad who coached their football, baseball and softball teams, the Dad who took them fishing, camping, went to games, and loved Halloween. He always picked them up in his utility van, they grew up in it for goodness’ sake. The Dad who picked them up as little children & who still held them as adults. The Dad who still said good night & I love you every day. The Dad who taught them to ride their bicycles, to the Dad who rode his Harley right next to theirs. Many of his children’s friends rode with him & now call him a friend.
His grandchildren would say he was the Best Grandpa EVER and he was taken away from them way to soon. He loved them unconditionally and they loved spending time with him, riding the four wheelers, running around & playing on his property, “out in the Country” as they would call it. He showed them how fix stuff, they helped feed the chickens & goats and loved to play with the dogs. The best moments were sitting on his front porch and watching those amazing sunsets with him.
Mike was preceded & welcomed Home by his Mother, Mary Ellen Ankers & his sister, Nadyne Leal. His father is Elloyd (Nancy) Leal and Stepfather James Ankers.
He is survived by his son Lorenzo his wife Carol & their 6-Children, Mykkelynn & her 2 children, & Toni Lenay her husband Esteban & their 2-children. Mike has 10 Grandchildren and their hearts are forever broken. He is also survived by Bella, Rosie & Harley.
He will be dearly missed by his 3 Siblings, Henry (Bernadette), Candy, & Elloyd Jr (Amy) Leal, his Godchildren Denece & Santana, and many other Nieces & Nephews, along with numerous family members & friends. Michael will also be forever missed by the Mother & Grandmother of his children.
