Michael Arthur McCabe

Michael Arthur McCabe, 82, Centennial, Colorado, passed away December 8th, 2019. He was born July 12th, 1937 in Durango, Colorado to Melva E. McCabe and Harry A. McCabe.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Josette M. McCabe and four children, Ellen (McCabe) Moran and her husband Brendan, Judi (McCabe) Piccone and her husband Tom, Joel McCabe and his wife Dana, and Tom McCabe and his wife Rosemary. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, Maria Domingue, Sarah Kernan, Ben McCabe, Joseph Moran, Joshua McCabe, Nathan McCabe, Michael Moran, Gabriel McCabe, Marie Piccone, Anna Rynda, Peter McCabe, John Paul McCabe, John Joseph Piccone, Thomas Moran, Matthew McCabe, Michelle Piccone, Bridgid McCabe, Christopher McCabe, Catherine McCabe and Maximillian McCabe and nine spouses of grandchildren. He is survived by seven great grandchildren.
Additionally, he is survived by two brothers, Bill McCabe of Santa Fe, NM, and John McCabe of Fayetteville, NC

Mike graduated from Mullen High School in 1955 and was a proud sponsor and promoter of the school over the years. After graduating from Mullen, he joined the US Navy, served 3 years, and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer. He spent his professional career growing a thriving agency with State Farm Insurance and retired after 35 years in 1980.

He was active in various Catholic parishes, civic organizations and volunteer opportunities. He served as an usher and trained altar servers at Notre Dame Parish for over 25 years. He had a special fondness for his prison ministry at both the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution and the Pueblo Correctional Facility.

Mike was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Denver and Pueblo, the Serra Club of Pueblo, the Pueblo Nocturnal Adoration Society and the Bocce Club of Colorado.
