Michael J. Murphy

Michael Joseph Murphy, 74, passed away in Aurora, Colorado on August 28, 2023. A graduate of Beverly High School in Massachusetts and the University of Nebraska Omaha, Michael was an avid reader and lifelong learner of history.

Retired from the Army as a Major, Murphy served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer from 1967 - 1988. He was a proud recipient of the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, three Bronze Stars with Valor, and the Legion of Merit Medal.

Michael enjoyed the outdoors through fishing, kayaking, rock climbing , and camping. What he enjoyed most though was the camaraderie of his close friends. He is survived by his son, Daniel, and many others who loved him and enjoyed his company.
