Michael G. Nastu, age 91, beloved husband for over 54 years of Mary Lika Nastu, died peacefully at MacKenzie Place Retirement Community in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
Born on December 21, 1929, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Gus and Thoma Nastu, Michael grew up in Bridgeport, CT, and graduated from Bassick High School.
Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17 years of age and served four years. He joined Southern New England Telephone in 1953 as a frameman and retired in 1989 as a central office supervisor. He will be remembered for his voracious appetite for reading history books, his generous spirit and devotion to his family, and his wit and sense of humor.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his parents-in-law Kosta and Victoria Lika, his sister and brother-in-law Terri and Raymond Trinkley, his brothers-in-law Arthur Lika, Kenneth Lika, Taffy Pittu, Robert Felner and Gene O’Neill.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jenifer Nastu, their children, his daughter, Andrea Nastu, her children and grandchildren, his sisters Sophie Pittu, Nell O’Neill and Barbara Felner, his sister-in-law Hope Lika and many loved nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday 6/30/21 10am at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church; 807 W. 29th St. Loveland, CO 80538, followed by a 12pm Graveside Service at Grandview Cemetery; 1900 W. Mountain Ave. Fort Collins, CO 80521
