Michael Scott O'Malley

Michael Scott O'Malley, 42 years of age, of Aurora, Colorado. Passed away on August 4, 2011. Michael Scott O'Malley had three passions in life- people, food, and construction. Mike graduated from Overland High School in 1987 and attended the University of Colorado. He displayed talent in the culinary arts at a young age and worked as a Sous Chef for various restaurants in Boulder, Vail, and Denver over the past 25 years. He truly was an amazing chef who loved to see smiles on the people he served. He also had his own construction remodeling business- skills that came in very handy around our home- finishing our basement, shoring up our decks, putting in stone paths, and helping in numerous other ways. He was noted for his love of people and was generous to a fault trying to help others through his construction business. Our family wishes to thank the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, 6th Floor, nurses and nursing staff support staff, physicians, and medical students who gave such loving and tender care to Mike and to all of us during this most difficult time. We hold dear each of you and thank you more than you will ever know. You are truly a Magnet Team! Mike is survived by his parents Robert and Nancy O'Malley of Aurora, Colorado; his brother Eric O'Malley of Saipan; and his sister Amy Weaver and her husband Eric of Anchorage, Alaska. A Memorial Service for Michael will be held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at Parker Road), Aurora, Colorado 80014. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made in Michael's name are suggested to the Christian Medical Ministry to Cambodia, 1685 South Colorado Boulevard, Unit S, Box 313, Denver, Colorado 80222-4035.
