Michael Wayne 'Mike' Pool

Michael Wayne ""Mike"" Pool, age 61, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on January 26, 2012. Mike was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Colorado in 1962. In Colorado, he attended Maddox Elementary School, Grant Middle School and graduated from Littleton High School in 1968. Mike and Lori met each other on a blind date in September of 1968. Within a year, they were married at the age of 18 in 1969. Mike and Lori celebrated 42 years of marriage in 2011. At the age of 15, in 1965, Mike earned his solo pilot license, and worked for Arapahoe County Sheriff's Posse in the early 1970's. He began his career in the Tool & Die industry at his father's business, Alderman & Pool Tool & Die and later branched out with a new product to start Pool Machine Company in 1971, which was later reformed as Victory Products in 1991. Mike started his career in the funeral industry at Chapel Hill in the mid 1990's. From there, he moved to the Pre-Need Department at Horan & McConaty. He soon realized his heart was in funeral directing. Since that time, he has been employed by Olinger at Hampden Memorial Gardens and most recently at Newcomer. Mike is the beloved husband of Lori; father of Mikey Pool, Mandy (Nate) Barbour and Lindsey (Jaime) Sieck; papa of Maverick, Marshall, Ben, Jake, AnnaMae, Brody and Eli; son of Wayne and Alene Pool; and brother of Ron Pool. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012, 2:00 P.M., at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of South Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. Mike never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.
