Michael Tabor

May 16, 1945 — August 16, 2020

Michael Eugene Tabor, 75, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully August 16, 2020. He was born May 16, 1945 to Charles and Atha Copenhaver Tabor in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mike grew up in both Michigan and Illinois, then attended Eastern Illinois University and later Arizona State where he earned his MBA.

Mike entered the service in March of 1967 and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was discharged in December of 1969, having served his country honorably.

In June of 1979, Mike married his sweetheart, Candy Sunseri. Candy and her three children brought much joy to his life.

Mike taught as an accounting professor at Weber State, Cal Poly Pomona and U.S.C. He later worked for the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission for ten years prior to his retirement.

Mike was known and loved by his family and friends for many things… but especially his witty and funny sense of humor, his love of food and his generous nature. His role of a jolly Santa was something he loved to do which brought much joy to others during the Christmas season. Mike was a ‘do-it-yourselfer,’ and loved fishing, hunting and traveling.

An anonymous giver to many in need, Mike was always willing to help others without judgement. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities in the Church. His favorite calling was that of  a teacher.

Mike is survived by his wife, Candy and her three children, Don (Sue) Sunseri; Teresa (Mike) Postel and Gina (Tra) Little; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert (Emma) Tabor and Rodney (Sherry) Tabor.
