Michael Henry Thome

Mike was born in 1959 in Denver, CO. He graduated from Bear Creek High School in Lakewood in 1978. He worked several jobs before he retired as a network technician from Qwest Communications in 2010. The job his friends and family remember most is when he worked at Shakey's Pizza in Lakewood. Mike leaves behind his wife, Pam, and two children Michelle (21) and Tyler (25). He also leaves behind his dog, QT, who was with him in his hospice room to the end. He also leaves two sisters, Cathy and Mary, as well as two brothers, John and Steve. Mike enjoyed bowling, skiing, golfing, and driving his pride and joy, his red Toyota Spyder. His other hobbies included cooking and gardening. Mike loved to travel, and his most memorable trips were to Australia, the first time with friends and then again with his family; but he also enjoyed traveling through the United States. One of his favorite places in the U.S. was California, especially near the ocean; so much so that we will be releasing his ashes in the Pacific in the future. Mike's final project was to make sure his and Pam's new townhome was remodeled entirely to his specifications. He helped to make sure everything was as he wanted it, down to the shower curtains in the bathrooms and the marble counters in the kitchen. He was never one to conform to the expectations of others, but marched to the beat of his own drummer.
