Michael Vodneck Michael was born in Denver, Colorado on March 20, 1960 to John and Mary. Soon after his birth he and his family moved to Dallas, Texas where they spent 6 years, moving to San Antonio for 2 more years and onto Madison, Wisconsin before returning to Colorado in March 1971. He is survived by his mother and younger sisters, Elizabeth Wood, Mary Kay and Joanie Vodneck and Ricia Adams. Also surviving are his brother-in-laws Rick Adams and Greg Wood, nephew Matt and Niece Lauren. Mike entered Green Gables Elementary in the 5th grade, attended Carmody Junior High and graduated from Bear Creek Senior High in 1978. He graduated from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins. Mike fell in love with Ft. Collins and the northern Colorado area and made his home in Windsor for the past 15 years. His father instilled a love for the outdoors and sports in Michael with camping trips, summer baseball, winter basketball, skiing and other sports. Both Mike and his Dad loved fishing, camping and hunting. Mike became very proficient at fly fishing and was always willing to show friends the rewards and thrills of reading the water to guarantee hooking a fighting trout. Mike also enjoyed hockey and was an avid fan of the Colorado Eagles. Family gatherings with his aunt and uncle and four cousins were the highlight of his summers as well as trips to visit Grandma O'Donnell in Cheyenne, especially during Frontier Days. He had many good memories of fun times with grandparents and relatives in Bennett. He loved his home in Windsor and spent many hours the last few years returning it to good shape after the tornado. He carefully selected the décor even down to the style and color of the doorknob. Cooking, gardening, and reading were some of his many interests. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends in need. Conversations with Mike were seldom serious as he could soon turn most conversations around with his humor and quick wit. He loved playing sly jokes on unsuspecting friends and family and we all fondly recall ""Michael moments."" If you measure the life of a man by the quality of his friends, his enjoyment of the moment, his zest for life, Mike's life was overflowing. Mike, we will miss you. Funeral Mass Thursday 4:00 p.m., St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 W. Florida Ave.
