Michael John Yeonopolus, 65, passed away on August 23, 2016. Mike was born on April 23, 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO to John and Bernice (Besse) Yeonopolus. He graduated from Wasson High School in 1969 and from the University of Colorado with an MBA in 1976. He was president of his business fraternity; Delta Sigma Pi and enjoyed learning to fence in college. Fly-fishing and hunting were particular passions of his throughout his life and he passed these passions onto his children. He was an exceptional poker player and enjoyed traveling to various casinos to play in tournaments and regularly played in several poker clubs. Mike loved to drive and own sports cars, and was an avid marksman and belonged to several gun clubs. He retired from Sherman and Howard as the chief financial officer in 2015. He loved nothing more than his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. He is survived by his wife of 27 years; Suzanne, his children, Dax Yeonopolus, Paige Yeonopolus-Kearns (Brian), and his granddaughter, Adelyn, Leah Putnam (Jason), Noah Skinner (Annie), and his sisters, Jan Yeonopolus of Austin, TX, nieces Megan and Meredith and Lisa Yeonopolus -Von Lichtenburg (Alex) of Sudbury, MA and niece, Alisandra. He was loved by his family and many friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E.
