Michael Thomas York, 53, died peacefully with his family by his side at Denver Hospice on August 2, 2015 in Aurora, CO due to complications following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on October 23, 1961 in San Jose, CA to his parents, Tom and Carol York. Mike grew up as one of five children in Portland, OR. He graduated from the Southern Oregon University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1983. He married Sandi York in 1993. After moving to Aurora in 1988, Mike worked as a District Service Representative for General Motors Corporation. He recently purchased a thriving auto repair shop in Brighton, Colorado. Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and fishing. He was an active and dedicated member of the Men's Ministry at Eastern Hills Community Church and a long term participate in a weekly men's bible study. He is survived by his wife Sandi, daughter Julia of Aurora, CO, step-son Scott of Issaquah, WA; parents, Tom York of Redmond, OR and Carol Loree of Joseph, OR; sister Anne Maloney (and John) of Redmond, OR, brother Dennis (and Karen) of Vancouver, WA, brother Brian (and Mary) of Molalla, OR, sister Trish York (and Carlos White) of Parker, CO, and 8 nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Eastern Hills Community Church, 25511 Smokey Hill Road, Aurora, CO.
