Michelle Milani

January 13, 1958 — May 24, 2013

Michelle Milani, a loving mother and devoted wife, passed away May 24 after a nearly two-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 55. Michelle was born in Manchester, England to Frank and Joan Brady. Six years later, along with her younger brother Martin, the family boarded a ship for Canada. This was the first of many moves for Michelle, as she spent most of her childhood living in places like Quebec, California and Texas. Michelle graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1976. Soon her family was on the move again, with the addition of her youngest brother, Kim. The family settled in Denver. In 1980, Michelle's mom introduced her to a co-worker, Mehdi Milani. There was a connection right away, as Michelle thought he was very kind. They continued to date while she took classes at Arapahoe Community College. In 1982, she earned her associates degree. Two years later, on June 21, 1984, Michelle and Mehdi were married. In 1986, Michelle and Mehdi welcomed their first son, Phillip. Then in 1993, along came their second son, Andrew. Michelle lived for her family, whether it was waking up early to make breakfast before school or staying up late when the kids were sick. Michelle also worked as a word processor for Mile High United Way for 14 years. Michelle had a passion for the outdoors and the ocean. Family vacations were accordingly spent at Yellowstone, Crater Lake and the California beaches. She loved to hike and camp, so heading for the mountains with the family was a summertime staple. The family she loved so much was with her in the end. She is survived by husband Mehdi Milani and sons Phillip and Andrew. She also leaves behind parents Frank and Joan Brady and brothers Martin and Kim Brady. Please join us for her memorial services Friday May 31 at 2PM at Horan & McConaty Mortuary, 3201 S. Parker Rd., Aurora. Donations may be made in Michelle's name to the American Cancer Society, for the cure of ovarian cancer, 2255 S Oneida St Denver, CO 80224.
