Miguel “Mickey” Morales, age 66, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver on July 14, 2024. Born in Puerto Rico, he embarked on a journey marked by dedication to medicine and a profound love for skiing.
Mickey pursued his medical education at the Universidad del Caribe before moving to Michigan for his residency, where fate introduced him to his beloved wife Diana (nee Lukasik). Their partnership flourished as they navigated life's joys and challenges together.
An avid skier, Mickey traversed the globe in pursuit of his passion. His love for the slopes eventually led him to Colorado, where he practiced as an internal medicine physician in Aurora. Despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the early 80s, Mickey remained resilient, continuing to inspire all who knew him with his courage and determination.
In 2005, Mickey moved to a nursing home, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Throughout his journey, he found strength in the love and support of his family. Mickey is survived by his devoted wife Diana, their son Michael and wife Carly, and their daughter Bridget and husband Joe Macejik. He also leaves behind three siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral and burial services will be held privately for immediate family. Mickey's legacy of passion, perseverance, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
