Mildred Ray Foard

Mildred Foard died on March 31, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota on March 14, 1921 and grew up in Marquette, Michigan. Mildred attended Graveraet High School and graduated from Northern Michigan University. She married Blake Langan Foard on February 6, 1943 in San Diego, California before Blake was shipped overseas to fight in WWII. Mildred and Blake raised their three daughters in Prairie Village, Kansas. Mildred had an inquiring mind, was an avid reader, an accomplished pianist and a bridge player. She taught in the Prairie and Shawnee Mission, Kansas school districts for many years. Mildred was a member of Village Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma honorary sorority and Homestead Country Cub. Surviving daughters are Mary Greer of Denver, Tamia (John) Carter of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Elizabeth (Robert) Swift of Denver. She is the beloved grandmother of Amy Silverberg, Gretchen (John) Hammer, Duncan (Jennifer) Carter, and Justin (Meaghan) Carter all of Denver and Leigh (Benjamin) McCabe of Kansas City. Her wonderful great grandchildren are Stryder Silverberg, William Hammer, Ryan Hammer, Christopher Carter, Nathaniel Carter and Harper Carter of Denver. A nephew, Harold (Elayne) Myers survives in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband Blake, grandson Cameron and son-in-law Joseph Greer. Committal of Mildred's remains will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM, in Rocky Mountain Memorial Park at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., in Aurora, Colorado.
