Mildred Frances Oberg (“Millie”), 91 years old, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2023.
Millie was born on March 26, 1931, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Walter Schindler and Emma Wilhelmina Gavenda. She grew up alongside her siblings: Lucille, Melvin, Lorraine, Kenneth, Donna, and Walter.
Millie grew up in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, moving to Minneapolis as a teenager. She met her husband, Philip, in high school and they married in 1948. The family moved to Denver in 1973. She worked as an office manager for 12 years at G&K Services. Millie was an active member of the church. Millie loved to stay active, walking two miles every day into her 90s, and loved doing puzzles to keep her mind sharp. She was loved by everyone who met her and was a light to her family.
Millie is lovingly remembered by her husband of 74 years, Philip Oberg, her sister, Donna, her children, Nancy, Richard, Bill (Roxanne), and Dan(Kim), her grandchildren, Crissy (David), Amanda (Zach), Megan (Dave), and Connor (Taylor), her great-grandchildren Alexis, Christian, and Kasen, and countless friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Barbie and her siblings Lucille, Melvin, Lorraine, Kenneth, and Walter.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00am, with the Rosary beginning at 10:15am, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Centennial, CO. A reception will follow at the church. Burial services will be private for immediate family.
