Miles Rampage Taylor, 9, of Aurora, Colorado passed away June 13th surrounded by the love of his mom and dad from Menkes disease.
Miles is survived by his mother Beth, father Jonathan, dogs Wayne, Bernie, Pearl & Mabel and his fish & birds. Miles was preceded in death by his brother John, sister Mazee & his pop pop Glenn (Grandpa).
Miles lived a full life, completing a long bucket list that many don't accomplish in a lifetime. While told he would not see 2 years old, Miles persisted and spent 9 full years enjoying sports, cartoons, the aquarium, the mountains, exploring San Diego, playing with his talker & sometimes enjoyed his many therapies. He was a make a wish kid, a guest of the Rockies, invited onto the broncos field before a game and once made time in his schedule to take a meeting with President Obama to discuss Menkes disease, Medicaid waivers and the National Institute of Health.
A special thank you to Children's Hospital Colorado for taking such good care of Miles over the years and being our 2nd home, as well as Dr. Stephen Kaler for his research for a cure for Menkes and allowing Miles to help further the cause.
A Celebration of Life for miles will be held at Horan & McConaty Cremation Gardens, Centennial, Colorado on Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora.
