Miriam ""Molly"" Shea

March 25, 1943 — July 26, 2018

Miriam ""Molly"" Shea, 75, of Englewood, CO passed on 26 July 2018 after an eight year course of Alzheimer Disease. She was born on March 25, 1943 in Atlanta, GA to Wilma (Pepper) and Edwin Mugford. She grew up in Jacksonville, FL, graduated from Bishop Kenney High School and St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career was focused on assisting geriatric and hospice patients. This focus was inspired by her experience helping to care for her father who died from Alzheimer Disease when she was 16. After retiring from nursing, Molly continued to assist the aged and shut-ins by volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Interfaith Senior Services in Chattanooga providing companionship and transportation for seniors for shopping and medical appointments. Molly was an avid volunteer docent at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, sharing her knowledge with visitors from around the world. She was a skilled seamstress, talented baker and enjoyed reading. Molly is survived by her husband of 50 years, Terry Shea. She was preceded in death by their son, Brendan (Jori) Shea. Molly is survived by their daughter, Megan (Gary) Werner and sons: Patrick (Christine) Shea and Kieran Shea. Molly is survived by their seven grandchildren: Aidan Werner, Flannery Werner, MoiraKate Werner, Anna Shea, Colin Shea, Emily Shea and Reilly Shea. Molly was preceded in death by her sisters: Bridget Mugford, Nancy (Jim) Stephens, Robin (Tom) Grady and her brother Ed (Diane) Mugford. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Stephens and her sisters-in-law, Diane Mugford and Diana Shea. Visitation and Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd, Centennial, CO on 9 August 2018 between 6 PM and 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 S. Harrison St., Denver, CO on 10 August 2018 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest a donation in Molly's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter. Molly was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and caregiver. She is deeply missed.
