Mitzi Gail Gaines

Mitzi Gail (Glenn) Gaines was born on June 28,1956 in Denver, CO.  She was the last child of John Roger Glenn and Vonda Lou Campbell. Her sisters are Rhonda Tellez (NM) and Sharon Ann Lewis (CO). Mitzi grew up in Alabama and returned to Denver at 16. Mitzi attended Hinkley High School in Aurora, CO. And later followed up at Front Range Community College with a focus on Computer Technology. She spent most of her life as a dedicated Mother to Akala LaMone Moton, Chanda Renee, and Demetrious Jerome Gaines, all of Denver, CO. Her legacy includes her grandchildren; Brieanna Holladay-Dominguez, Desiree Holladay, Darian Moton, Darrell Horton, Jr., D’Andre Horton, Amiya Chanda Moton, Jaylan Moton, Demetrious J. Gaines jr., Donovan J. Gaines, Kayla Moton, Elijah Moton,  and 11 great grandchildren with one on the way. 

Mitzi spent many hours in her beloved garden, reading, and was known for the love of her dogs (It wasn’t uncommon to catch her cooking a full coarse meal or making an ice cream cone for them either).  Mitzi was passionate about her family and friends. She loved thrifting, crafting, and spending time with loved ones. Her laughter was sure to change your mood and laughter at all things inappropriate was guaranteed. Our favorite memories of Mitzi were her famous scary stories during sleepovers at her house as kids. 

The world is a sadder place without Mitzi in our daily lives. But Mitzi touched each and everyone of us and will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to spend any amount of time with her.
