Monica Lucero

July 19, 1973 — July 21, 2024

Denver, Colorado

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monica Lucero, 51, of Denver, Colorado, whom went home to be with the Lord July 21st, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. She is a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, and will be missed by many.

Monica was born July 19th, 1973, in Holland, Michigan to Henry R. Briseno and Gloria Post. As a child, Monica moved to Colorado where she grew her life and developed a family of her own in West Denver.

Monica was a pure loving kind soul who loved everybody wholeheartedly and unconditionally. She had the biggest heart and biggest smile that brightened any room she entered and a laugh that was contagious. She was a very creative, brave, smart, genuine and caring person who loved to help others. She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and friends. She always left an imprint on everyone’s heart.

Monica enjoyed many things like sports, music, and traveling. She loved to bake, especially for the holidays, her specialty was chocolate chip cookies that she would bake from scratch ‘if you know you know’. She admired flowers, plants, and animals, Sea turtles were her favorite. She was our little beach bum who loved to feel the sand in her toes, sun on her skin, and salt water in her hair. She would fill her sand bucket full of sand dollars and seashells. She was an adventurous gal who liked to traveled coast to coast and hiked mountain to mountain wanting to catch every sunset.

Monica is survived by parent, Gloria Post/Camfield; daughter, Alyssa Marie Cisneros (Israel Anthony Cisneros), daughter, Maryssa Marie Lucero; grandchildren, Avery Marie Cisneros, Izalea Marie Cisneros, Izabelle Marie Cisneros; siblings, Sonja Cespedes, Joshua Briseno, Melissa Briseno, and many nieces and nephews.
