Montana Garfield Blackburn was born Aug. 25, 1932 in Jordan, MT. He was the youngest of six children. His siblings were Nellie, Brett, Grace, Judy, Dean. He passed away July 26, 2009, in Rifle, CO. Montana served in the U.S. Navy on three tours of the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his fun spirited wife, Lois, his children and grandchildren. His passion was fishing. He was blessed by the love of his wife, family, and all who knew him. Montana was preceded in death by Lois earlier this year, after 54 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter, Janet (RK) Spencer of Littleton; two sons, Michael (Misun) Blackburn of Denver, Steven Blackburn of Parachute; six grandchildren - Jake, Aubrey, Amber, Austin, Hanna, Logan; two sisters - Nellie, Judy. Interment with full military honors was held July 29, 2009, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Grand Junction, CO. Memorial Service is Sat., Sept. 12, 3 pm, at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Denver, CO, following with a celebration of Montana's life at Ken Caryl Ranch Equestrian Center, Littleton, CO.
