Morris W. Nelson

Morris W. Nelson, 74, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away October 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 27, 1944 in Stockton, California to Morris William Nelson and Velma Loretta Swett Nelson.

Morris had interests in history, football (he was an avid Denver Broncos fan), and travel. His entire working career was spent in the insurance industry. He was president and CEO of Colorado Western Insurance Company and a broker for Lloyd's of London. His family was very important to him, including the four legged members (dogs).

Morris is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Nelson; their blended families, Laura Nelson, Mark Nelson, Lisa Petrovich (husband, Joe); Lauren Shimbel (husband, Drouin) and Suzanne Kernes Dawe (husband, Ian); four grandchildren, Micah Nelson, Zetana Behymer, Jaidyn Petrovich and Ryan Dawe; and his sister, Rose Mary Barley.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014.
