Muriel Jeanne Parmenter, 65, of Thornton was born January 26, 1944 in Lyons, New York to Harry Barnard and Lois Bradley Barnard. She passed away at her home on July 16, 2009. Muriel taught fourth grade at Hudson Elementary School for 20 years before retiring in 1997. Besides teaching she also directed school plays. She enjoyed playing the guitar and piano, singing folk music and drawing. She also wrote poetry and children's stories. Muriel loved cats. She also designed and made costumes for the Academy Community Theater. She is survived by her husband Michael Carlos Parmenter, her son Matthew Charles Parmenter, her mother Lois Barnard, sister Marian Strong and brother Richard Barnard. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, 11AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Michael J.
