Myles Schaff

November 3, 2006 — July 13, 2020

Myles Schaff was born in Walnut Creek California but lived most of his life in Arvada Colorado. He came into this world 5 weeks early and weighed only 3 lbs 11 oz. He spent 5 weeks in NICU after birth due to health complications. This was a shadow of things to come. Throughout his short and precious life Myles was beset by severe health problems. He endured multiple surgeries [e.g. G-tube, bladder augmentation, PICC Line] and countless procedures / visits with Doctors. Myles' legacy will be that he overcame each and every challenge with the most optimistic, humorous & selfless attitude ever known in a young boy. From his parents, friends at school or church to his teachers and doctors, Myles left an indelible impression on everyone he encountered. Myles had the whit, humor, charm & intellectual capacity of a mature adult, all wrapped up in the body of a small child.

Myles enjoyed many hobbies during his short 13 years: skiing, golfing, swimming, bike riding, and traveling with his family. Some of his favorite trips were to the Bahamas, Hawaii & Disney World. Perhaps his biggest passion was playing " creative games " with his brother & sister. Whether it was Harry Potter, Spiderman, Jedi Knights, baby wolves or just simply making up a new game with stuffed animals & Legos, Myles could make a complex storyline out of anything. Myles also had a passion for writing stories, plays and poems. He would regularly author plays that his brother and sister would help produce and perform.

Myles was a gifted entertainer and loved to make people laugh. Whatever anyone was doing, he always made it more fun! He spent the last 2 years of his life trying to be a YouTube sensation. " What's up guys, Myles Schaff here ..." His dream was to get to 100 subscribers. He made it to 59. Check out his work by following ‘Myles Schaff' on YouTube.

Myles was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and an Aaronic priesthood holder. Though young in age, Myles demonstrated an exceedingly high degree of spirituality. He loved reading scriptures, had a testimony of his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and would regularly share it with those around him. He prayed for others with the care and concern of individuals more than twice his age. He ministered to others both in word & deed.

His enthusiasm and appreciation for life was incredible and unforgettable. Myles will be missed so very much by his family and friends, but we know he is in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and family that has gone before him. He has a mission to do in Heaven and his work on earth is complete.

Myles, you are an incredible spirit. We are glad you belong to us forever!

Myles is survived by his parents, David Neill & Shirleen Brunt Schaff; older sister, Tessa Eileen Schaff; younger brother, Porter John Schaff; grandparents, John and Tamara Schaff & Eileen and Stan Baker. Myles is preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfred William Brunt Jr. & grandmother, Bonnie Thorup Schaff.
