Nadine Vivian Overley

Nadine Vivian Overley passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, June 1, 2017 with family by her side. She was 84 years old. December 15, 1932 was a beautiful day, our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was born in Randall, Iowa. Nadine was the middle daughter of three. Her hard working parents owned a café on Main Street, in Story City Iowa. At age three Nadine's father Merle became paralyzed from a car accident. Nadine and her brother and sister took on more of the responsibilities at the café. Nadine learned at a very early age how to be a strong, determined, caring, loving, and compassionate person. Nadine married Bill Overley on December 16th, 1954, and remained married with him 59 years, until Bill passed away from Alzheimer's disease in December of 2013. Nadine never met a person she didn't like, as a military wife she moved around the country and the world, where she met lifelong friends along the way. She worked as a stylist in the early years and later worked in the accounting department for Frontier Airlines. Then, toward the end of her career she assisted her children in their businesses. Along the way she made friendships that have lasted a lifetime. A woman of faith, Nadine, loved God, and her many friends from her church of more than 30 years. Her passions included golf, traveling, cooking and baking. She loved to shop with her grandchildren and was always on the lookout for the best bargains. She was always the one to enjoy any get together, and was passionate about her relationships. Her loving personality, gratitude and giving ways were some of her greatest qualities. Throughout her life she always said ""very nice"" and ""I got it"", which meant, ""I will never say anything negative"" and ""I will do anything for you"". Because that is how she lived, always thinking of others. Her love for family completed her, she did everything for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her door was always open, she would make you a meal, listen to whatever you wanted to talk about, and bind the family together. She took care of everyone, and cared for us in the most endearing way. No doubt her legacy lives on in all of us, because she is proof that angels live on earth. Nadine, is an angel that received her wings, now we must follow in her footsteps. She is survived by her sister, Ramona Johnson, and five children: Gary Overley, Larry Overley (Michele), Randy Overley, Kimberly Brack (Brent), Kevin Overley (Jennifer) ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Nadine is preceded in death by her husband Bill Overley, brother Merlin, and her parents Merle and Clarice. Funeral Service is at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 12, 2017 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15625 E. Iliff Ave. in Aurora, Colorado. Reception immediately following the service.
